2 policemen gunned down in Kawempe

Two police officers were on Thursday night shot dead along Spenkon Road in Kawempe, a city suburb.

According to residents, the officers were shot by two gunmen who were traveling on a boda boda.

The deceased were identified as Mark Habyara and a one Otim.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the killing of their officers citing that the incident happened at around 8pm.

Owoyesigire said the killed officers were on foot patrol when they were attacked by unknown assailants.

Apparently, the bodies of the deceased officers are at Mulago Hospital mortuary for postmortem as investigations take route.
