Former Minister of Health Dr. James Makumbi has passed on.
Dr Makumbi was found dead at his country home in Bbaale County, Kayunga district but the cause of his demise is not established.
By the time of his death, the former Baale county Member of Parliament has been the Director of UPDF Medical services and he has also been advising President Yoweri Museveni on health issues.
Dr. Makumbi served as physician at Mulago Hospital during the liberations wars in the 1970s and 80s.
In February 1995, he was kidnapped by a rebel outfit headed by renegade UPDF soldier, Herbert Itongwa, an event that made headlines for more than a week.
