Opposition Democratic Party (DP) members have on Sunday morning learnt with shock about the demise of one of their own and former Kyadondo South Member of Parliament Issa Kikungwe.
Kikungwe who was the party’s flag bearer for the 2016 Kampala Lord Mayor elections passed on today morning.
The sad news was revealed by Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.
He wrote on his Facebook page;
I spent the night in Bukedi sub-region on Togikwatako crusade but have woken up to shocking and sad news of the passing on of our brother, Hon. Issa Kikungwe. May His Soul Rest in eternal peace. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajihun.
In 2016, Kikungwe first lost his wife Hajati Zainah Nalule who was also DP’s national Treasurer.
She succumbed to heart complications.
May His Soul Rest In Peace.
