The chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) Abdul Katuntu has declined claims that his committee used shs5 billion to investigate the infamous shs6 billion presidential handshake.
Katuntu said they used only $27900 from the tax payers money and the rest of the funding was from non-governmental organizations. He said the allegation that his committee used shs5 billion is a blackmail from their critics.
He further said that they tried to cut the costs as much as possible and that is why they took only five committee members to UK out of the 32 members.
The controversial presidential handshake was shared by 42 government officials who included Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) boss Doris Akol, KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi among them others.
