On Wednesday this week four Makerere University students were arrested at Buganda Road Court while protesting against government’s act of jailing their lecturer Dr. Stella Nyanzi.

The four students were taken to Central Police Station (CPS) Kampala and recently they appeared before court but denied bail and on top of that they were remanded to Luzira Prison until 22 May,2017.

Hill Water

Now Dr. Nyanzi has condemned the state’s act saying that it is not right to arrest and detain students expressing their constitutional right to peaceful demonstration.

“Tyrannies rape even infants and dudus. It is ridiculous that the four students of Makerere University who were arrested for demonstrating against my imprisonment have not only been denied bail but also remanded at Luzira Prison until 22nd May 2017. Shame on the tyrants!

Why arrest and detain students expressing their constitutional right to peacefully demonstrate? Why not arrest and detain the regime thugs who continue to plunder poor Ugandans through sugar prices going at Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Uganda Shillings (7,800/=) per kilo?

Who is going to arrest the rapists of our Ugandan shilling? Who is going to deny bail to the plunderers of our resources? Who is going to detain the robbers running rampage all over Uganda? Jailing campusers yet the plunderers of our resources are left untouched!!!!”
