The Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura has appeared before Parliament Appointment Committee for approval following the renewal of his contract.
The IGP is meeting the committee which is being chaired by speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga.
Recently, Kayihura’s tenure as a police boss was renewed by President Yoweri Museveni.
He has been the police boss since 2005 after taking over from Gen. Katumba Wamala making him the longest serving Police Chief.
However, the renewal of his contract has sparked mixed reactions from majority of Ugandans who claim that he has failed his job as an IGP die to the wide spread criminality during his era.
