Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura has spoken out on the death of his blue eyed boy, AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi who was shot dead on Friday morning in Kulambiro, a Kampala suburb.

Kayihura who revealed that police have been getting warnings from criminals that they would hit them “where it hurts” also said that the assailants pretended to fix a broken motorcycle as they waited for their target. They finished him at 9.30am together with his bodyguard and driver in a shooting that is said to have lasted about 10 minutes.

“They have killed our officer but they haven’t finished us. We will get them,” said the IGP.

IGP Kale Kayihura: AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi was full of promise and I was relying on him very much

IGP Kayihura: This is not the first time such kind of murder has happened. Our police officers have been victims

Let us always practice Neighbourhood watch, this would have helped to know why the gunmen were pretending to repair their cycle –

IGP Kayihura: They have been warning us that they will ‘hit where it hurts’ — Kaweesi’s death has indeed hurt us

IGP Kayihura: The locals say the killers pretended to be repairing their motorcycle. All we need to do is to enhance vigilance
