King Oyo to embrace KIU cultural gala

The king of Toro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru has finally accepted to be part of the Cultural Gala competitions that are to take place tomorrow.

The cultural gala that is organized by Kampala International University has attracted crowds from Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya Tanzania, Kenya as well as Uganda to compete for awards through Music Dance and Drummer.

King Oyo is expected to be at KIU main campus in Kansanga by 12:00pm where various associations shall give him a warm welcome.

Among the Ugandan indigenous tribes that are to compete are the Baganda, Basoga, Iteso, Lango, Bakonjo, Karamoja, the Ankole just to mention but  a few.

The guild president of Kampala International University Ndagire Comfort Vanessa said that this year gala is going to be different since KIU allows both academic and non academic associations to compete

The following are the associations that are going to compete where a winner shall move away with a bull as well as other gifts for various positions respectively

  • East African Law Students’ Association
  • Kampala International University Scouts Unit
  • Kampala International University Generational Changes’ Family
  • Kampala International University Nigerian Students Association
  • Kampala International University Uganda Development Youth League
  • Kampala International University Kibaale United Students Association
  • Kampala International University Economics And Statistics Students Association
  • Kampala International University Diplomats Students Association
  • Kampala International University Acholi Students Association
  • Kampala International University Bamasaba Students Association
  • Kampala International University Bakiga/Kigezi Students Association
  • Kampala International University Bagwere Students Association
  • Kampala International University Banyankole Students Association
  • Kampala International University Banyarwanda Students Association
  • Kampala International University Baganda Students Association
  • Kampala International University Basamia Students Association
