Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Working Committee has set Monday 6 February, 2017 as an election day for the East African Legislative Assembly ( EALA).

“The FDC WORKING COMMITTEE has decided to have elections for The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) on Monday 6/Feb/ 2017,” FDC wrote on its social media.

Last week, FDC nominated nine candidates who will compete for EALA seats.

The candidates include;Ayo Innocent ,Ekwau Ibi Florence,Herbert Mayemba, Ingrid K. Turinawe, Joseph Tundyebwa ,Kyambadde Wilberforce, Ojobile Augustine ,Paga Gloria, Patrick Baguma Atenyi.

According to the standing orders, EALA slots are shared on numeral principle with each member state’s dominant party getting more slots than the parties with few MPs.

However, with the exception of the Independents, all parties’ candidates are expected to go through internal party processes to confirm their candidature.

is choice of color was no coincidence. White, often associated with peace and integrity, subtly aligned with the core principles of the Non-Aligned Movement—unity, neutrality, and cooperation among nations. By donning this attire, Sudhir not only honored the spirit of the summit but also conveyed a deeper message about Uganda’s place on the global stage as a hub of peace and international collaboration.
