Former landlord pins Museveni Advisor, Buchaman of defaulting on Shs6m rent

Newly appointed Presidential envoy on ghetto affairs Mark Bugembe famously known as Buchaman is a wanted man after failing to clear Shs5.6 million rent arrears.

According to his former landlord a one Kawooya, Buchaman and his wife approached him for a house to rent in 2010. He gave them the house at Shs600,000 per month.

However, in 2011, when the faded singer left Fire Base, things turned against him, he started defaulting on rent.

“After failing to pay rent, I advised Buchaman to go back to his former boss Bobi Wine so that he could better up his life but he refused. I was left with no option apart from dragging him to court where he was ordered to pay Shs5.6 million in damages and costs incurred. I took the court bailiffs to the house Buchaman was renting to force him pay my money. Unfortunately he had already taken off,” Kawooya told a local media outlet on Monday.

The landlord further revealed that the ‘Temumatira’ singer has since then been playing hide and seek.

“Since the President gave him a job, it’s high time he paid me my money. It’s not too late since he has just received a sack of money from President Museveni.”

Meanwhile, in response, Buchaman admitted that he owes Kawooya some money but not that much as he alleges.

“That was long time ago in Namere, but he should say the right amount I defaulted. Anyway if he wants money I will give him, Kawooya is my friend,” Buchaman said.
