Judith Babirye’s father: I last saw my daughter last year at her wedding, she’s very secretive

James Newton Mukooza, does not know what is happening in the life of his daughter Judith Babirye since they rarely speak.

According to Mukooza, he last communicated with Babirye on her wedding day, last year, and since then, he has only been seeing her on TV.

“I don’t meddle in my daughters affairs, I last heard from Babirye at her wedding last year, they later went for honey moon and after that day, I have been watching her on TV once in a while during Parliament broadcasts, till recently when her siblings told me that she went abroad,” he said during an interview with nbs on Wednesday.

Mukooza claimed that despite their rare communication, they have a good father and daughter relationship, but also believes that Babirye hides a lot of things from him.

“What won’t happen I put it in the hands of God since I am born again. I know there are things she hides from me, because even the rumors of pregnancy, problems in marriage and American tour I just learnt about them in the media but we have not yet spoken about it with her,” he said.

Mukooza also stated that best person who can talk about the rumours of plans to have her killed is her husband Paul Musoke, the Buikwe County North Legislator. Other than that, the singer’s family knows nothing about it.

Rumors have been making rounds on social media alleging that all is not well in Babirye’s marriage, and she was forced to flee the country in fear that her life or that of her unborn baby were in danger from Musoke and her co-wives.

Impeccable sources recently noted that Babirye had to dash to police several times at night to report her husband for wanting to kill her on top of fear that she ‘could be a victim of ritual sacrifice from the man she committed to’.

To make matters worse, it is reported that her co-wives are also posing a threat to her life too, thus making her marriage almost impossible.

Given all the circumstances around her life, Babirye chose the option of saving her unborn baby by fleeing the country and Parliament and now plans to give birth away from home so that her baby can easily get USA permanent citizenship.

Sources also intimated that Babirye is currently living with fellow gospel singer Ivan Kamoga, who is helping her with maternity issues as well as with getting papers to request for asylum to keep away from her husband and co-wives.
