Despite having ambitions to stand for Lord Mayor of Kampala, Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone has on Thursday handed over a new bus to Wakiso Giants Football Club. The team has a home base in Wakiso district.

Wakiso Giants FC has been playing in the Fufa Big League but will rub shoulders with the big boys of the Uganda Premier League next season.

Excited about this achievement, the Leone Island CEO shared the news through his social media platform, explaining how he managed to lobby for the bus from a gentleman he met on an airplane on his way to Phoenix, USA.

“On my way to Phoenix, I sat next to one kind man. We chatted and he took me though an adventure of his business. I also shared mine my music experience. We later shared contacts and promised to reach out each other again,” Chameleone shared.

Chameleone states that he met with that gentleman again in Oregon, USA and it’s where their conversation went deep. They talked about a lot and the Mateeka singer shared his dying love for football and Wakiso Giants FC.

“He picked a lot of interest and asked me what best he can contribute to us. He mentioned that he had a bus company and asked whether giving a club populalry known as the Purple Sharks one, would make a change. I was so happy and together with the team’s administration accepted.”

An ardent football fan, Chameleone has been a regular at most of Wakiso Giants’ home games. The singer who was raised in Kawempe however has his official home in Seguku in Wakiso district.
