David Mugema, a local artist and Jonah Muwanguzi, a music producer have on Wednesday been granted bail by Buganda Road grade one magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu.
The duo was charged with offensive communication and disturbing the peace of President Yoweri Museveni and yesterday they were remanded to Luzira Prison.
The state alleges that while in Makindye early this year, the two produced a song “Mzee Wumula” with an intention to annoy President Museveni.
Muwanguzi was stood surety by local musician Willy Mukaabya a resident of Kawempe, his cousin Abel Tumukundane from Makindye and one Paul Semwogerere, a resident of Mukono; while Mugema was stood surety by Faith Nanyunja.
