The Trade ministry has collaborated with Uganda Export Promotion Board, the private sector, Ugandan Diaspora in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates to organize the convention under the theme “bringing Uganda closer to Middle East market”.

Francis Ntaganza the chairperson of the committee preparing the convention said that Uganda has a lot of needed products in Dubai yet many Ugandans don’t get a chance to know how to trade with the Arabs in the Middle East.

“This convention will give an opportunity to Ugandan exporters to test and understand the market in the Middle East,” Ntaganza said.

He added that every farmer dealing in fruits, sweet bananas, ground nuts, fish and fish products, green pepper and chills and vegetables or sesame seeds should participate in the initiative because they will gain a lot and in order to participate registration has started at the ministry of trade Head offices in Kampala.

“We are going to give them an opportunity to take products to Dubai and link up with the potential buyers,” Ntaganza noted.

The convention is scheduled to take place from 24th -26th August 2017 at Radisson blue hotel Deira Creek,Dubai,  more than 300 Ugandan exporters are expected to participate.
