Bank of Uganda (BoU) changed the signature on Uganda shilling banknotes.
According to the statement issued on 17 Friday, February,2017, BoU informed the public that Uganda shilling banknotes with the year of print 2017 will bear a signature of the current Bank Secretary, Mrs. Susan Kanyemibwa alongside with that of Governor, Emmanuel Mutebile.
“The bank Secretary’s signature is found at the bottom right of the note just next to the bank’s logo. The year of print is found at the extreme bottom right of the note,” Statement partly read.
However, the governor cautioned the public that all other print and security features remin unchanged.
In addition, all banknotes bearing dates earlier than 2017 and signed by the former Bank Secretary, Mr. George Nyeko remain legal tender.
