The family of former Minister Nyombi Thembo is in total distress after the amputation of their daughter’s hand.

Nyombi is the former Minister Information Technology. He is currently working as the Director for Rural Development Fund at Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).

Condellezza Nakazibwe’s hand was severely damaged during a motor accident that happened along Kampala-Entebbe Expressway on November 17, 2019.

The accident happened when her father’s driver was picking them from school. Nakazibwe who is Thembo’s youngest daughter was with her brother Schwarzkopf Katende by the time of the incident.

The driver took off thinking that the two siblings had died. They were saved by Pastor Martin Sempa who drove them to Doctor’s Clinic Seguku.

Due to the severe injuries Nakazibwe sustained on her hand and leg, Mr Nyombi was forced to take her to India for further treatment.

In the course of the treatment, it was decided that the hand should be amputated in order to save her life and over the weekend, Nakazibwe was operated at Apolo Hospital in New Delhi.

“It is not easy for us at the moment; I keep asking myself why it was supposed to us. But what is important is that our daughter is still alive,” Nyombi told Bukedde newspaper on Monday.
