Salon Talk: How to protect your make-up on a rainy day

Makeup and rain don’t mix. And ladies know this better.

The big question thus is; how can one remain with their makeup ‘beauty’ all day during this rainy season?

I sat down with a very good makeup and beauty artiste called Jocelyn.

I found Jocelyn seated at her makeup studio, JoceMakeup studio located at Titanic Plaza, Johnson Street in Kampala city and I raised to her my concerns of ‘Rain and Makeup’.

She confirmed that rain is the real enemy of makeup, but it shouldn’t be the reason why a lady should move out of her house wearing no ‘Makeup’.

Jocelyne says that it’s always important for ladies to wear makeup all day long because it brings out their hidden beauty, plus it brings confidence, elegance and class to many ladies.

However, she advises that no matter how good or expensive your makeup is, one should always cover their faces when rain comes to avoid makeup from wetting, because wet makeup always looks terrible.

“If you can keep your face from wetting, then you can keep your ‘makeup’ beauty all day along,” she says.

However, Jocelyne also has some other solutions.

“At my makeup salon, I have an all-day last spray and primer that I apply on clients and their makeup remains intact the all day. No matter the weather” she said.

Here are some easy steps you can follow when applying makeup:

1.Wash your skin properly to remove all the dirt

2.Use a simple layer of primer on your face

3.Use an oil-free foundation

4.Layer your skin with powder that suits your skin complexion

5.Then tone your skin with makeup, eye shadow, and other stuff you would wish to apply

6.Spray your face with priming spray, and also wear waterproof mascara to prevent your makeup from flowing.

Note: Don’t kill your day before it ends, carry your umbrellas and hide your makeup from these heavy constant rains.
