City Pastor Martin Ssempa has always had a lot to say about people’s ‘unGodly’ acts.
The self appointed ethics and integrity crictic however got cornered and had to answer why he follows a popular porn site called Porn Hub on twitter.
Ssempa’s troubles started after an online critic noticed that the activist and senior Pastor of Makerere Community Church was following Porn Hub, one of the most popular porn sites in the country.
Shocked on finding a ‘man of God’ on such site, a tweep identified as Faisal, asked Ssempa if he is following Porn hub to spread the word of God to the porn stars too.
“Ahhh @martinssempa, why do you follow @pornhub though? Like are you trying to get them to come to your church?” Faisal tweeted.
Given the traffic caused by this tweet, Ssempa quickly rushed on his timeline to defend himself, claiming that he follows the site to detect 18+ content before it spreads in Uganda.
“I work on the pornography control committee with mandate of early detection of pornography in Uganda. It’s the human #LokodoMachine,” he noted.
Though some online critics doubted Ssempa’s intentions for following this porn site, the pastor was among the appointed nine members who makeup the anti-pornographic committee, this committee was selected by the Minister of Ethics Simon Lokodo in 2017.
And some of the committee’s major mandates is to ensure early detection and prohibition of pornography, apprehend and prosecute perpetrators, collect and destroy pornographic materials and objects.
