The Uganda Police Force is investigating a “mysterious double fire” that broke out at the home of National Resistance Movement – NRM national treasurer Rose Namayanja.
The incidents happened on Thursday evening and Friday morning at her home in Masooli-Kasangati.
“Namayanja, her husband and all house occupants however, escaped with no injuries. The first incident happened on Thursday evening when the annex housing the gym got burnt to ashes. This building is located about 30 metres from the main house,” said Rogers Mulindwa, the NRM Senior Manager Communication, Information and Public Relations.
“To yet another shock of the family, another fire started from the living room of the main house around 8:00am on Friday morning leaving several house property destroyed.”
Mulindwa further revealed that the actual cause of the fire is still unknown but a joint team of experts led by Uganda Police have already embarked on the investigations and the home remains a scene of crime for now.
