The Embassy of the United States of America in Uganda in partnership with USAID have embarked on offering ICT , life skills, literacy and games training in primary schools in Western Uganda aimed at equipping them with new technological advancements.
Unveiling the program on Thursday at Mother care day and boarding primary school in Ntungamo Municipality, the head of the team Bruno Bakahika said that they need to training pupils in primary schools in Uganda such that they meet academic standards internationally.
He said that the week long program will end with practical work of assembling a computer.
Phillip Ankwatsa Tumuhimbise said that the program is in the school’s line of equipping pupils with academic skills holistically for a better future.
The deputy head teacher at Mother care day and boarding primary school Kyarikunda Abel noted that over 120 pupils are being trained and thanked parents and well-wishers who normally recommend the school for such programs.
Kyarikunda attributed the selection of the school to benefit under this program to its good performance at Primary seven Leaving Examinations every year.
