Balaam visits St. Peter’s Basilica to pray for ‘noisy brother’ Bajo

Events guru Balaam Barugahara has shown that he, unlike some members of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) can tolerate competitors from opposition.

Balaam, who recently visited St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican remembered to pray for the troubled promoter Andrew Mukisa, the CEO of Bajjo Events.

Bajo was recently remanded to Luzira prison for inciting violence and offensive communication, after threatening to overthrow the government in power.

The People Power activist was arrested after addressing a press conference in Kampala on June 15 by three plainclothes security operatives and two counter-terrorism policemen who dragged him in a waiting white Toyota Hiace before being driven to unknown location.

Bajjo had earlier told the press that they were to organise a marathon to help Bobi Wine to earn money he has lost over failed concerts.

He has been languishing in prison since then.

At the Vatican, Balaam claimed that he attended a special service where he prayed for his rival Bajo, his young family the sick, and prisoners among others.

“Prayed for my crazy, noisy brother and fellow promoter Bajo Events Clear Process to be given a bail by court, and also pardoned by dropping charges against him, so that he may rejoin his younger family. I am sure he has tested enough in Luzira next time he won’t repeat the careless, disrespectful and divisive comments on the elected leadership,” Balaam posted on social media, alongside photos of himself in the now trademark orange tshirt.

The events promoter did not forget to pray for President Museveni as well as the national football team that is currently engulfed in wrangles over pay.

“I made a special prayer request for success of our National Team Uganda Cranes players and officials to have the country’s pride first so as to succeed in the CAF tournament, and allowances next,” he said before promising to give away ‘blessed Orange and Yellow Rosaries’ to anyone interested.
