You are an idiot, broke and uneducated – Magogo tells Misagga

Uganda Cranes finally made it out of the group stages of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations despite losing 2-0 to hosts Egypt at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday night.

The jump into the round of 16 has been over shadowed by a silly feud between engineers Moses Magogo and Ben Misagga, with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations president branding his rival an ‘idiot, broke and uneducated’.

The latest spat follows a tweet on Sunday by Misagga, a former SC Villa and Nyamityobora FC head, condemning Magogo for ‘enjoying’ Egypt instead of drumming up support for local tournaments.

Magogo is one of the several football fans currently in Egypt to support Uganda Cranes. He was accompanied by some members of his family which seems to have irked Misagga.

“People enjoying as no FUFA delegate or DFA are drumming up the village drum tournament. I saw Kalibala on a boda boda near Bakuli. Why can’t football people enjoy instead of these creepers,” Misagga, who has declared plans to replace Eng. Moses Magogo as the new FUFA president come 2021 FUFA elections, said in a tweet accompanied by several photos of Magogo, his longtime girlfriend Dellah Sally and another family member in Egypt.

This did not seem to go down well with the often diplomatic Magogo responding on Monday and saying Misagga is ‘broke and uneducated’.

“I have ignored this idiot too much. I am a CAF EXCO where my family is entitled to first class hospitality at all CAF events,” Magogo responded. “Please leave my family out of your failed hate campaign. Brokenness combining with lack of education.”

This is not the first time the two have clashed. And it will probably not be the last, with the feud believed to be longer than a decade.

Misagga has continuously accused Magogo of corruption, nepotism and not being fit enough to run Fufa

Last year, Missaga walked out of a meeting in which Fufa passed an estimated budget of Shs30bn for the federation’s activities for the 2019 next financial year, at White Horse Inn, Kabale western.

As the budget figures were being presented, then Nyamityobora Football Club president Misagga walked out in protest.

“I cannot be counted among those who passed block unexplained financial figures. I would rather walk away,” Misagga later told journalists.

Also, Misagga has accused the federation of failing to pay him commission from the deal that saw StartTimes sign a 10-year league sponsorship with Uganda Premier League, a claim maggo has rubbished saying ‘that there will be neither a commission nor an acknowledgement from Fufa.’
