Police, LDU arrest over 90 hard core criminals terrorising Kampala

Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala with the support of Local Defence Unit (LDU) last night arrested 94 alleged hard core criminals terrorising the city.

The operation was carried in the areas of Arua Park, Nebbi Park, and Nakivubo Channel.

The arrested suspects were found with knives, breaking implements and opium.
Posting on its official Facebook page, Police said the arrested people will be charged in the Courts of Law next week.

Last month, Police arrested 424 people suspected to be terrorising Kampala City. The crackdown took four hours.

The operation was targeting criminals that have been snatching phones, handbags, necklaces and other crimes.

It was carried out in the areas of Katwe, Nsambya, Kisenyi, Old Kampala, Namirembe road, Wandegeya, Kabalagala, Jinja Road, city centre, Nakivubo channel and the surrounding areas.
