Kabale Regional Referral Hospital which is responsible for all the health services in Kigezi Sub region has completely failed to meet government expectations due to poor services, according to the Kabale Deputy Resident District Commissioner Ahimbisibwe Gad Rugaju.
The hospital is a referral for districts Kabale, Kisoro, Kanungu, Rukungiri, Rubanda and Rukiga.
Rugaju made the revelation during a press conference at his office at Makanga hill, Kabale municipality in Kabale town on Thursday afternoon.
“National medical stores always dispatches drugs meant for the hospital but they do not reach the destination. Security is investigating the matter,” Rugaju said.
Last year, several complaints were lodged against the hospital administration alleging that they sell dead bodies to the deceased’s relatives before handed over for burial.
When contacted to comment on the matter, the known phone contacts of the administrators were not available.
