UACE results to be released on Thursday

The Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results for 2018 will be released on Thursday, February 28.

The results will be released by the State Minister for Higher Education, Dr John Chrysostom Muyingo who will be representing Education minister Janet Kataaha Museveni currently on other state duties.

A total of 99,672 candidates sat for 2018 examinations. Here, 58,359 were male candidates while 41, 313 were their female counterparts.  About, 2,217 examination centres were used under the guidance of 800 Uneb scouts.

According to Uned executive secretary Dan Odongo, students will access their results via SMS or by use of the internet.

The 2017 UACE results indicated that female candidates performed better than their male counterparts.

Odongo, then said a total of 101,269 candidates registered for UACE in 2017 examinations compared to 104,243 who had registered in 2016, a decline of 2,974 candidates.

Also, of 101269 candidates who registered for the 2017 UACE Examination, only 100,066 turned up for the examinations.

According to the results released, 98.5 percent of 101,269 candidates qualified for the award of UACE, including candidates who obtained at least one subsidiary level pass in a subject at principal level.
