‘Pastor’ Yiga takes healing powers to South Africa, wants to pray for the ladies

Local pastors have been in the news of recent – some for all the wrong reasons. But we shall concentrate on Augustine Yiga who has somehow surfaced in South Africa.

But not without controversy. Yiga, the Revival Church Kawaala head popularly known for his comic show ‘Ki Kyolifa tewelabidde’ (What you’ll never forget), that airs on ABS TV, has taken ministering to another level, now claiming that if a ‘lady mothers and fathers her children alone, she has a serious evil spirit following her.’

In a language similar to English only his flock and himself can try to understand, Yiga explains that some evil spirits run through such a woman’s family and there is no way one can escape them except with his prayers, and urged women to reach out to him for more information about these ‘evil spirits’ and prayers.

Also, according to Yiga, if there is a background of poverty, being single parents, not getting married among others in your family, it’s a deadly evil spirit that can move through decades and can only be stopped through his prayers.

In South Africa, Yiga is allegedly trying to extend his business as he spreads the healing power that ‘God’ gave him. Reports have it that his elder son, Ronnie Yiga is running the family business and he is currently fitting in his father’s shoes at Revival Church.

Before he showed up in South Africa, Yiga was in the news as a smart conman, with several people claiming he refused to pay them, after staging dramatic scenes on TV while pretending to be healed by the ‘pastor’s’ powers.

In 2015, Yiga was summoned to court on grounds of rape, child negligence and spreading HIV/Aids. This after a 26- year-old Brenda Nalubega claimed that Yiga forced himself on her and left her pregnant and HIV positive.

Apart from owning ABS TV, Yiga is also the CEO of Revival Band, a songwriter and artiste manager with musicians such as Benah Namisinga, Hajat Madina, Hassan Ndugga among others under his label.
