Despite a great display away from home, 16 time Uganda Premier League winners Sports Club Villa Jogoo Salongo succumbed to a late goal to lose 1-0 against Kampala Capital City Authority at the Star Times stadium, Lugogo on Thursday.
Allan Okello scored the late strike from the free-kick in the 85th minute of the well attended game.
Moments earlier, the Jogoos were a thorn to the opposition with clear cut goal scoring chances coming to striker George Senkaaba and Allan Kyambadde.
Simon Sserunkuma, Musa Mukasa and Yubu Bogere were all introduced for Ambrose Kirya, Joseph Nsubuga and Godfrey Lwesibawa respectively.
“We did not deserve to lose today because we were the better team on the day. We shall rise up in the next match against URA at home.” assistant coach Wasswa Bbosa noted.
SC Villa Jogoo will take on URA at Masaka Recreational Stadium on Wednesday, 21st February 2018.
