Uganda Cranes started preparations on Wednesday afternoon at Namboole for the last 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifier match against Congo Brazaville.
19 players all local based reported for the session under the watchful eye of interim coach Moses Basena together with Matia Lule and goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba.
Basena said the team has to prepare and get positive results from Congo.
‘We can no longer qualify for the World Cup but we have to prepare and put up a good show next week’ said Basena.
He added that the team is also preparing for other upcoming engagements like the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup and the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in Morocco.
‘I have summoned other players who were not on the original list to be part of the training sessions’
The foreign based players will start arriving in the country on Friday.
