Love, respect, and honesty are the most important ingredients of marriage. They make a marriage everlasting. Honesty is the base for every strong relationship. While most of us agree that lying over trivial issues is forgivable. But what will you do if your partner lies about their gender? This happened with a Belgian husband who discovered that his wife was born as a man.
64 years old Jan found out that his wife has lied about her gender. He married her wife Monica in 1993. She used to live in Indonesia at that time. He wanted to start their married life as soon as possible in Belgium. Therefore he prepared all the necessary documents. However, Belgian court was doubtful about her identity. But after a little struggle, they approved the documents.
Jan already had 2 children from his previous marriage. That’s why they didn’t want to have their own kids. Jan told that Monica used Sanitary towels to conceal the truth of her menstruation. He further said that while having sex also, he didn’t notice anything different about her.
Everything was going fine until Monica joined a full-time job. Since then she was a changed person for Jan. Jan’s son saw her at nightclubs with her abdomen exposed. Moreover, Jan also saw amorous messages of her with another man. Later his son told him about the rumors that have been doing rounds that Monica is a transgender.
It was enough for Jan. He finally confronted her and she accepted the truth. She accepted that she was born a man and later had gender reassignment surgery.
“My world collapsed in a few seconds. I was horrified. I feel like have been violated for almost 20 years.” said Jan.
Jan applied to court to evict her from his house. However, the court didn’t grant the order. They still live together under one roof but live in separate rooms.
He added, “We live in separate rooms and rarely speak. What Monica has done to me and my family is unforgivable. I just want her out of my life. “
