Buganda Road Court has set the 10th March 2017 to deliver its judgment in a case against a senior police officer, Joram Mwesigye –the former DPC of Old Kampala Police Station, who is accused of assaulting a WBS Television journalist Andrew Lwanga.
The prosecution alleges that on 12th January 2014 at Florina Bar at Namirembe road, Mwesigye unlawfully assaulted Andrew Lwanga who was covering a youth demonstration.
The journalist has since been unable to walk by himself because of an injured spine and required clutches.
The prosecution further alleges that on the same date in the place Mwesigye damaged two video camera one belonging to Joseph Ssetimba as well as his khaki trouser.
