Rwanda has today Sunday evening handed over a Ugandan boy, who had illegally entered their country.
Nohiri Boy, who couldn’t say his name and age clearly due to shivering, was handed over to Ugandan authorities by the Burera District mayor Marie Chantal Uwanyirigira at Katuna border post.
This was during the handover function where Rwanda was handing over the body of Justus Kadogo Kabagambe, 25, a resident of Rutare Village, Bigaga Parish in Butanda sub county Kabale district who was killed 11 days ago as Rwandan soldiers shot at him when he passed through the porous border to enter Rwanda. He was carrying with himself waragi and Movit cosmetic products probably for sale in Rwanda which was illegal.
Nohiri Boy estimated to be between 10-13 years was later discovered to be a relative of Kabagambe, the deceased.
It’s not yet known when, why and how Nohiri Boy infiltrated into Rwanda.
Nohiri Boy is one of the luckiest Ugandans to be returned by Rwandan authorities alive.
Rwanda has killed ten Ugandans along her border since she closed her border with Uganda in February 2019.
