A fresh anger has erupted between Ntungamo Muslim community and area district Khadi Sheikh Swalleh kashangirwe over incompetence and mismanagement of Muslim funds in the district.

Muslim community led by suspended Ntungamo Muslim district council chairman Hajji Jafari Kawuki accuses district Sheikh Kashangirwe of dictatorship, incompetence and mismanaging of Muslim funds since he was elected as substantial district Khadi last year.

They also accuse him of suspending the Ntungamo Municipality Imam sheikh Abudallah  Yunusi Rwamahe without paying his arrears totalling to over Shs4.5 million and recently sacking Hajj Kawuki without following right procedures.

In the letter dated May 14th 2019, Hajji Kawuki ceased to be the Ntungamo Muslim district council chairman and Said Bukenya was elected to be the care taker for three months to allow the district organise election of a new substantial one.

This prompted the  Muslim community to storm the office of Ntungamo Resident District Commissioner George Bakunda requesting him to solve their matter. Bakunda in turn petitioned the  Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Mubajje who promised to pay a visit to Ntungamo on Thursday  but failed to show up.

This angered Muslims who resolved to unseat Sheikh Kashanganirwe and Said Bukenya from office until their issues are solved.

When contacted Sheikh Kashangirwe refuted all accusations against him saying the issues are political motivated.
