Barely a few days after the body of Dr Catherine Agaba was found dumped in a septic tank in Muyenga, another medical practitioner has been reported missing.
Maria Nabayunga, a laboratory Technologist at Nsambya Hospital went missing last week on Thursday at around 4:30Pm.
According to her relatives, Nabayunga was last seen around Nsambya.
A case of missing person was filed at Kabalagala police station.
“We are investigating the matter and would like to appeal to anyone who could know Nabayunga’s where abouts to report to the nearest police station,” a source at Kabalagala Police Station told Watchdog Uganda.
On Easter Monday, police recovered the decomposing body of Dr Agaba, 25, after she applied for annual leave on April 9.
The International Hospital Kampala (IHK) doctor went missing on April 13, 2019.
According to police, Ronald Lubangakene, the security guard at her apartment led security to where her body was dumped. Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said the deceased’s neighbours and relatives became suspicious when Lubangakene vanished following Agaba’s disappearance.
“When we successfully traced for the security guard, he led us to the septic tank in Muyenga where the deceased was renting. We have already retrieved the body and it has been taken for postmortem at Mulago hospital,” Owoyesigyire said. Lubangakene reportedly told police that he killed Agaba because she was reporting him to his boss for dodging work.
