All head teachers and teachers based in best performing schools in Ntungamo District will be transferred to poor and struggling schools in order to uplift the academic standards in the region.
According to the chief administrative officer, Ntungamo District Kweyamba Ruhemba some teachers have over stayed in some schools. And even though they are performing very well, it is better that they are transferred to other schools so that they apply the good methods aimed at accelerating the performance.
Ruhemba made the remarks on Saturday while facilitating a two-day Rugarama Sub County School’s education transformation training held at Rugarama C.O.U, in Rushenyi County Ntungamo District.
The training was aimed at sharing hindrances and experiences and forge a way to transform academic standards of schools in Rugarama Sub County.
Ruhemba expressed dismay over the continued poor performing of the Rugarama Sub County schools at the district and national examinations, noting that the district education department resolved to embark on transferring all civil servants particularly teachers hoping that this will help poor performing teachers and schools to be transformed.
“I urge you teachers if you know that you can help schools which are performing poorly to do better you bring your qualifications in my office and I do transfer you to such schools”, he said.
The Ntungamo District speaker, who is also the area councilor Elijah Atuhaire, commended Ruhemba and the Sub County chief, Shallon Muhangi for conducting the training aimed at looking for lasting solution to education saboteurs.
Atuhaire asked all participants not put blame on each other but embrace collective action and cascade the information as only way to improve the education Ugandan children.
The training was attended by teachers, chairpersons of schools, political and civic leaders from within Rugarama sub county.
