The Ugandan premier, Rt Hon Dr Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda has urged youths to cooperate with government to fight against HIV in the country.
“I remind you today that HIV still exists and kills ” Rugunda said.
The premier said this on Saturday while speaking at a function where St Mary’s college Rushoroza was celebrating it’s golden Jubilee.
He was representing the guest of honor, who was supposed to be the president of the Republic of Uganda H.E Yoweri Museveni.
Rugunda Cautioned the youth to take responsibility of their lives and work together with government to fight against HIV.
He thanked St Mary’s college Rushoroza for the it’s undisputed successes, disciplined students, and for its consistence in academic performances.
St Mary’s college Rushoroza, Kabale
St Mary’s college is a Catholic founded and was started in 1967. According to its history, it only started with 43 students. The school is one of the best in western region in terms of academics and infrastructure.
It’s owned by Kabale Catholic Diocese. Today it has an estimated number of over 1, 400 students.
Fundraising
On the function, 173,498,000 was collected towards the development of the school. 150 bags of cement, 500 liters of diesel and 2 cows were also presented.
King Ceaser Augustus Mulenga, the king of Kigezi bought the portrait of President Yoweri Museveni as shs100 million.
