Food poisoning has caused panic at Uganda’s parliament after registering three cases of poisoned legislators.
In a period of six months, three MPs allegedly suffered from food poisoning.
The victims include, Minister of State for Primary Health Care also Moyo District Women MP Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu, Kakuto County MP Christopher Kalemba and Budiope East Geoffrey Dhamuzungu.
Kaducu was early this year discharged from Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi where she had been admitted under Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
On the other hand Dhamuzungu was last week rushed to Case Clinic in Kampala over suspected food poisoning but he was later discharged.
According to sources, the poisoning vice at the Legislative Assembly may be emanating from bitter the political rivalry between some MPs and those that seem to take their seats in subsequent elections.
While appreciating fellow legislators on Thursday at Parliament for the support they rendered her during the difficult time, Minister Kaducu advised them to take precautions on what they eat or drink to save themselves from falling victims of poison.
