Solomon Mutai has also made Ugandans proud after winning a silver medal in the men’s marathon at Commonwealth games in Australia.
Mutai took silver in two hours, 19 minutes and 2 seconds, behind Michael Shelly of Australia who retained his title in 2:16:46. The 25-year-old Ugandan improved on his 4th place at the last Commonwealth games in Glasgow.
Scotland’s Robbie Simpson took bronze (2:19:36).
Uganda now has six medals from the Gold Coast games whereby Joshua Cheptegei won two gold medals, Stella Chesang also won a gold medal, Mercyline Chelangat a bronze and Juma Miiro scooped a bronze from boxing.
