Vodafone Uganda has been placed under administration after being declared bankrupt.
According to a notice local newspapers, the High Court of Civil Division has appointed Donald Nyakairu as the provisional administrator of Afrimax Uganda Limited, the 4g LTE communications partner of Vodafone Uganda and an Interim Protective Order has been granted to the company for a period of three months pursuant to section 139 of the Insolvency Act, 2011.
Basing on the administrative order, for the next three months, Vodafone Uganda will have to turn in its books for scrutiny to Mr. Nyakairu, a lawyer by profession.
Since late 2017, the telecommunication company has been having a tough upheaval in terms of business and most of its workers were cut off and some outlets closed.
