Uganda Broadcasting Corporation has sent on retirement 22 of its employees.
The month of November 2017, found the employees who had refused to retired and continued in office despite reaching retirement age.

Workers at UBC should retire at 55 years but, many of them had gone past the age, arguing they still needed a job for their livelihood.
Some of the elderly workers include Alhaj Abdul Nsereko who has been the director of political programs, John Arinaitwe (Station manager UBC West), Angello Nkeza (Head Engineering), Dick Mulima (Star FM), Florence Bonabana (Manager radios) among others.

This website understands the workers were taken through pre-retirement exercise including counseling them on how to live positively in retirement.
Management also assured them of a humble package to help them settle into retirement.
