Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) has denied claims that it deployed soldiers at Gen. Kale Kayihura’s residence.

Reports have been circulating on social media indicating that the police boss’s home in Muyenga was cordoned off by military police and Special Forces operatives on Thursday night.

However, UPDF Spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire has disregarded the claim thus referring it to falsehood.

“Please ignore the misinformation circulating around that UPDF is deployed around at the residence of the IGP Gen Kale Kayihura. It is totally false,” he said.

The development comes at a moment when Senior Police officers are being arrested by Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI) for allegedly taking part in top murders cases including that of former police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi.

Some of the arrested officers include; the Professional Standards Unit commander Commissioner of Police, Joel Aguma , Senior Superintendent of Police  Nixon Agasirwe and a one Sgt Abel Tumukunde among others.
