They always say a bad workman blames his tools and that idiom quickly equate to Uganda Cranes Captain Denis Onyango’s excuse after the team’s under-performance in Saturday against Ghana Black Stars in World Cup Qualifier.

After the game, Africa’s finest goalie came out to blame the poor state of Namboole Stadium pitch as the sole reason why Cranes under played.

He said the pitch’s poor state was an indication that there’s no respect for the national team.

“It was our chance to go to World Cup but the pitch didn’t befit us, ” he said.

“It was a disgrace playing on such a pitch by the national team, ” he added.

The match ended in a goalless draw.

Meanwhile, Namboole’s sorry state came after hosting independence night prayers for renowned city pastor Aloysius Bugingo.
