Uganda Coffee Associations is going to launch coffee growing in Uganda in Bukomansimbi tomorrow which is going to help Ugandan farmers to get coffee seedlings and how to take care of coffee plantations.
Dr. Yamuremye Emmanuel, the chairman of Uganda Coffee Association in Uganda says that they are preparing to start educating farmers how to grow coffee and benefit from it.
“We are going to give out seedlings to the farmers from different parts of Uganda to grow so that we can improve the coffee production in Uganda and our income as well.” Dr. Yamuremye says.
Dr. Yamuremye adds that farmers are now very reluctant to grow coffee yet its a valuable crop.
This campaign is also supported by the BUCADEF that is also in a same campaign to promote coffee growing in Buganda as well as Uganda at large.
Hon. Florence Nakiwala kiyingi, the minister of youth and children affairs says that many youths have been given money for development but don’t know how to invest it.
“We as leaders we are going to take responsibility to teach our youths how to invest their developmental funds and one of the best ways is coffee growing.” Hon. Kiyingi says.
The launch will be held tomorrow on 25 may 2017 at Buyoga church in Bukomansimbi by the minister of Agriculture, livestock and fisheries hon. Ssempijja V. Bamulangaki.
