The Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Gen. Kale Kayihura has appointed former Director of Interpol Asan Kasingye as the new Police Spokesperson replacing slain AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
Kasingye has also been appointed as Chief Political Commissar (CPC).
Meanwhile, AIGP Fred Yiga has also been transferred and appointed Director of Interpol and International Relations.
The changes are to take immediate effect and DIGP will arrange handover and takeover.
Kaweesi who has been the police spokesperson was shot dead along with his bodyguard and driver last week on Friday by unknown assailants near his home in Kulambiro, a Kampala suburb.
