Batalo Festival returns with a unique and fresh climate change dance piece

Are you tired of the usual dance moves and you want to experience something unique? Well you are now sorted as Kampala’s top dance crew ‘Tabu-flo’ sets to bring something new at the Batalo Dance Festival 2019.

Tabu-flo dancers will be unleashing an environmental awareness themed dance dubbed Sisobola Kusa (I Can’t Breathe), which will be showcased on Friday, August 30 from 5pm-6pm in Katwe (Mugeyena), near the Railway Station.

This dance piece will be addressing the raising concern of plastic and garbage disposal in Kampala City, and it will feature creative dancers who include Priscah Atite, Hamza Kimera, Hafusana Bamwenda, Faizal Ddamba Mostrix, George Okrutu, among others.

Founded in 2006, Tabu-flo has countless Awards and international recognitions to their name which include, the Youth Achievers Award in 2011, has been featured on CNN African Voice, and The Economist, among others.

‘Sisobola Kusa’ dance show-case comes as part of the inaugural events of the annual Batalo Dance Festival that will happen on August 31 at Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala.

The Batalo Dance Festival will showcase performances from at least 50 groups and solo performers.

There will be Dance cypher for all dancers and a dance competition where dancers will battle out in various categories that include Krump, Afro house, Style Yake, 2 on 2 Newstlye Hip hop and 5 on 5 All styles crew battles.
