Record Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa continue their quest to keep their league status intact when they host high flying Tooro United at the Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

With two games to the end of the season, Villa currently lie 13th on the log, their lowest rank at this stage of the season since they gained promotion to the top division in 1979. The Jogoo do hold a five point cushion off Ndejje University who hold the final relegation position.

Villa require just two points from their remaining games to ensure survival and first up will be a visit of former coach Wasswa Bbosa. Bbosa makes a return to the club for the first time since he was infamously ousted at the end of last season after guiding the team to third position.

Tooro United side are the inform team in the league, picking up four wins and just one draw, scoring nine and conceding just thrice in their last five matches as they continued their surge up the table to fourth overall.

Villa’s return of two wins and two draws in their last five league games has been a good spell for them but it’s their home form that has been ultimately worrying, picking up just three wins while conceding 11 goals in their last 10 home games.

And they come up against a side that is as impressive away. Tooro have avoided defeat in six of their last 10 away games, scoring an impressive eight goals in the last five away games.

Villa top scorer Bashir Mutanda’s season could potentially be over after limping off with a knee injury in their last game against Maroons but luckily coach Douglas Bamweyana can turn to Ronald Magwali who has come in handy recently, scoring the winning goals against Mbarara City and Maroons.

Joseph Semujju will return against Tooro after serving his suspension for accumulated yellow cards but the defender Derrick Ndahiro and Emanuel Kalyowa may not feature again through injury.

On the other hand, Tooro United will rely on Allan Kayiwa; the midfielder has been great for them throughout the season, grabbing nine games to this point. Former Jogoo players Godfrey Lwesibawa, Mahad Kakooza could also have an influence on the game in the feature.

Elsewhere, Mbarara City will be hoping to leapfrog Tooro into fourth if they can pick all three points when they visit BUL Bidco at Njeru Technical Centre in Jinja. Maroons, who need just a point to secure survival will host the other Jinja based sided Kirinya Jinja SS at the Prisons Ground in Luzira.
