You can no longer ignore NBS ambition to be among the top dominant media companies.

Reports reaching our desk indicate that Kin Kaliisa has finalised the acquisition of Jazz FM, and has set himself on the new journey to disrupt the radio industry.

Jazz FM which was based in Ntinda, was allegedly owned by musician Isaiah Katumwa and a couple of other people. It’s not clear yet the amount at which Kaliisa got the radio but we know for sure the radio will get a new name. The new management is not committed to keeping its jazz music theme since it has failed the station in the first place.

Watchdog Uganda website however understands the name is likely to be of the parent company Next Media, hence Next FM is the new name of the radio.

Kaliisa the strategist has already tipped Marcus Kwikiriza to be Next FM’s first station manager. Marcus works at Capital FM and has worked in Kenya at one of the top stations in Nairobi. This means Kaliisa wants more than an ordinary radio station another furniture at his Kamwokya based media multimedia complex, but seeks dominion in this space.
