Last week, during #FreeBobiWine protests in the city, Reuters Journalist James Akena was brutally beaten by UPDF soldiers before being arrested.
A video shows Akena kneeling in the middle of the road, with a camera in his raised hand, while soldiers lash him from all sides of his body.
Akena was later admitted to one of the city hospital where he has been nursing wounds.
Now the photojournalist has left for UK to manage his trauma better.
Posting on his Facebook wall, Akena said; Off to manage my trauma better, Will update you on progress trillion thanks for your sincere concern, support and prayers. God is great,”
