Police in Rukiga district are holding two suspects in custody for allegedly murdering a 40 years woman over witchcraft.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson identified the suspects as Andrew Arineitwe and Richard Tusimomwe all residents of Kafunjo Parish, Kashambya sub county in Rukiga district.
40-year-old Santrina Kangume was on 2nd July 2018 murdered by mob suspecting her of practicing witchcraft after the death of an area resident identified as Gideon Tayebwa a resident of Kanyabugunga in Kashambya sub county who died on 1st July 2018 under unknown cause.
Police rushed to the scene but it was too late to save her life as she had succumbed to the wounds inflicted on her by the mob.
Elly Maate added that as police they managed to arrest two suspects to help in investigations and vows to arrest whoever is involved in this kind of murder.
The case is registered under reference number .SD;6/2/7/2018 of Rukiga district.
