Lucy Akello is the woman MP for Amuru District. She is also the head of Catholic MPs in the House. And when she stood up on Sunday during the special sitting as the body of the assassinated Arua Municipality MP Ibrahim Abiriga lay in state, she had a powerful message for fellow MPs.
“We should repent,” said Akello, as she was being booed by her colleagues. She told the full house that she had a dream where she saw many MPs in a mass accident.
Making a disclaimer that she is not a prophet of doom, Akello said she doesn’t know the meaning of her dream, but, she has since seen two MPs involved in accidents along Kampala Gulu highway, while one MP was before sleeping forever.
