During a vibrant celebration of President Yoweri Museveni’s legacy at Kololo Independence Grounds on Friday, renowned Ugandan singer Jose Chameleone delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing his gratitude and sharing his vision for the future of the country’s music industry.

In his unwritten address, Chameleone highlighted his admiration for President Museveni’s leadership and the peace that Uganda enjoys under his governance. “I want to thank Mzee for keeping our country safe,” he began. “People can talk about what they want but as Chameleone, I want to express my gratitude for Mzee. He has kept our country, and Uganda is now known as a very peaceful country, welcoming people from all corners of the world.”

Chameleone’s words resonated with many in attendance, as he acknowledged the progress and stability that have characterized Museveni’s tenure. His appreciation for the president’s efforts to maintain peace and security in Uganda was evident as he continued, “And I want to tell those who think that what they see in other countries can’t happen here.”

However, the celebrated artist did not stop at expressing gratitude. He also revealed his aspirations to contribute to the next generation of Ugandan musicians. “Tell Mzee that I also want to retire and inspire the young generation Ghetto youth,” Chameleone announced. “So I want to make a very big recording studio that will groom young and able Ugandan artists like Gaza.”

Chameleone’s commitment to nurturing young talent reflects his dedication to the growth and development of Uganda’s music scene. His proposed recording studio aims to provide opportunities for aspiring artists from disadvantaged backgrounds, offering them a platform to showcase their abilities and achieve their dreams.

The announcement was met with enthusiasm and support from the audience, who recognized the potential impact of Chameleone’s initiative. By investing in the youth and fostering a new wave of musical talent, Chameleone hopes to leave a lasting legacy that mirrors the positive influence he attributes to President Museveni.

This announcement paved the way for him to go and meet the president and his wife in the far tenant.

Meanwhile, President Yoweri Museveni, who has led Uganda since 1986, was celebrated for his role in restoring stability and fostering economic growth after years of turmoil. His tenure has been marked by initiatives to promote peace and development across the nation, making Uganda a beacon of stability in the region.
